SAN MARINO – When an economic model has run its course, it’s pointless to insist on keeping it alive. On the contrary, decisions need to be taken and a generative process that leads to a new model of development and growth activated. The policy of non-choices doesn’t pay and is no longer of any use to San Marino. The Secretary of State for Industry, Crafts and Trade is working in this direction, with the precise aim of internationalizing the economy and making the Republic of San Marino a crossroads for Asian investment in Europe and western investment in Asia. This construction work had to be symbolized and highlighted with regard to visual perception too and this led to the creation of the Moulding the Future brand. The aim of Moulding the Future is to trigger a moral reawakening and call all the people of San Marino to act together in order to shape the future of the country. In the logo that accompanies the initiatives of the Secretary of State, the light energy at the centre of the spiral represents dynamism and creativity. It is the heart of a new cultural, economic and social model. The colours used also aim to give a precise message. Yellow represents change – a search for something new – it is a symbol of fertility, the colour of the sun and therefore, the colour of energy, strength and vitality. Orange represents joy and magnificence and red, the colour of love and passion, represents the mobilization of all energies and trust in one’s personal strengths and skills. Green is the symbol of hope par excellence, the colour of rebirth, and finally, blue is the colour of tranquillity and immortality. The choice of English is a clear sign of the desire to open up to the world and communicate with it; bilingualism is something San Marino needs to work towards.
